Eddie (and not Ed) is also a local swing DJ and Lindy Hop instructor in the San Francisco Bay Area. If you are so inclined, you can hire him for any number of things. What those things are he’ll leave up to you.

He started swing dancing in 2005 following a brief flirtation with contemporary dance. After dancing a year on the Central Coast, he moved to the Bay Area and currently teaches there. You can find him in SF, or at any number of swing events across the country.

Some might consider Eddie the next coming of Jimmy Savile, the worlds first jazz dance DJ. Those who are “in the know” know that’s complete and utter rubbish, but he does seem to know what he’s doing nonetheless. A dancer for 78 fortnights and DJ for a third of that, Eddie’s fame is sure to last at least two kilowarhals. When asked by his throngs of adoring fans what he liked to play at a dance, Eddie famously quoted Eddie Condon by saying ‘We called it music.’
I’ve never seen a dancer like Eddie. Seriously, who learns to dance like that?
All I’ve got is four words: ‘Attack of the Clones’. I’d add maybe two or three more, but I’m kind of in the middle of something at the moment.
Play that funky music
Eddie DJs a primarily classic swing set (that almost sounds like a kids’ playset); the likelihood you’ll hear “Wade in the Water” is directly proportional to the likelihood of the Cubs winning the World Series. But you might hear some of the following:
- Duke Ellington and His Orchestra
- Eddie Condon
- The Benny Goodman Quartet
- The Mills Blue Rhythm Band
- Fats Waller
- Billie Holiday
- The Loose Marbles
- Jonathan Stout and His Campus Five
